Turning Japanese - Day 03 [2/4]: Asakusa, The Japanese Divisoria

Finally, Ate Tet and I made it to Asakusa, Tokyo.

Here's the entrance to the Asakusa Temple.

Parang galit sina Sadako at Samara na nasama sila sa picture. Muntik nang um-attack.

This is right beyond the gate. Long rows of stalls ng mga pagkakagastusan. From here, one can see the roof of another gate that opens to the courtyard of the main temple.

One of the four deities that guard that main entrance.

Another one of the four deities. Kairita mag-smile. Parang nakakaloko. Muntik ko nang pinatulan.

One of the many alleys perpendicular to the main road going to the temple.

Ate Tet, Ate Emmy and I went to s'ynneD right across the main gate of the Asakusa Temple for lunch.

Ate Tet and Ate Bhe.

Ate Tet and I. After lunch, the right part of my face became paralyzed. That should explain the asymmetrical smile.

And this was the culprit. Kidding. Uhm, actually I didn't bother to find out what I just had.

The main gate of the temple from Denny's.

'Yung mga nakasabit sa red na poste, mga Golden Rule. The one in front says "Bawal ang maingay." The next one is "None ID, Nothing entry." Etc. Yup, I should consider working for the UN.

And here's the gate that leads to the main temple.

Ito ay... something. One of the buildings that surround the courtyard.

In the middle of the courtyard, there's a huge palayok kung saan inilalagay ang mga batang maiingay. Pwede rin dito magpausok ng katawan [or parte ng katawan na masakit] para ma-cleanse before going inside the temple.

Asakusa Temple courtyard. My back was to the temple.

Well apparently somebody important eh nahatsing.

People need to throw coins ['yung Y5 para may butas] before 'yung special intentions.

Donate Y100 ata or Y400 tapos kuha ng kandila. Tapos sisindihan 'yung kandila.

At ilalagay sa loob ng glass cabinet.

Donate money again, then get a stick from the steel box. 'Yung corresponding number sa stick at sa mga mini-drawer...

...'yun ang kapalaran mo.

Temple ceiling.

Exit / entrance to the right side of the temple.

Supposedly, if hindi maganda 'yung nakuhang fortune kanina, pwedeng gawing eroplano. Or, pwede ring itali dito para 'di matupad.

Shrines and minor temples surround the Sensoji Temple.

Exit at left side of the temple leading sa isang commercial area na may perya.

...perya.
